Library study room: reservations and entry

Before opening the translation, read the Japanese and check the people, times and conditions. This is a fictional learning text.

1. 図書館の二階に、新しい勉強室ができました。図書館のカードがある人なら、無料で使えます。

   There is a new study room on the library’s second floor. Anyone with a library card can use it free of charge.

2. 三人以上で使う場合は、前日までに予約すれば、二時間まで利用できます。一人で使う人は予約できません。

   Groups of three or more can use it for up to two hours if they reserve by the day before. Individual users cannot reserve.

3. 部屋に着いたら、入口の表に名前を書いてください。その後で席を選びます。

   On arrival, write your name on the sheet at the entrance. Then choose a seat.

4. 入口の横にある青いボタンを押すと、部屋の電気がつきます。帰るときには消してください。

   Pressing the blue button beside the entrance turns on the lights. Please turn them off when you leave.

5. 飲み物はふたのあるものなら持ち込めますが、食べ物は持ち込めません。

   You may bring drinks with lids, but you may not bring food.

6. 日曜日は五時に閉まるので、四時五十分までに片付けて出てください。平日は六時まで使えます。

   On Sundays the library closes at five, so tidy up and leave by four fifty. On weekdays the room can be used until six.

7. 予約した時間に来られなくなったら、必ず受付へ電話してください。連絡がなければ、次から予約できない場合があります。

   If you can no longer come at the reserved time, be sure to call reception. Without notice, you may be unable to reserve next time.
