Free N5 foundation practice checks

Been studying and wondering what to review next? Choose a 40-question set, read the explanations after submitting, and connect your result to the lessons you need.

What the check covers

Each set has 12 vocabulary, 8 kanji, 12 grammar and 8 reading questions based on two passages. Sets A, B and C contain 120 different questions and six original passages. These are LavaJapanese learning exercises, not reproduced JLPT exam questions.

Listening is not included. Your score is the number correct on this set, not a scaled score or a JLPT pass prediction. There is no time limit; you can pause and return in the same browser.

Use the result to keep learning

  1. Answer all 40 questions. You can change answers before submitting.
  2. See section scores and up to three review priorities. Each skill has just four questions per set, so the evidence is limited.
  3. Start a 7-session plan: read a lesson, practise, use words in a reading, then try a different set.

Review work joins Today within your chosen study time. Due questions keep priority. Sign in to sync submitted results; no account is needed to start.
