Parcel message: receiving and redelivery

1. 今日、私は仕事で帰りが遅くなるので、隣に住んでいる姉に荷物を受け取ってもらうことにしました。

   I will get home late because of work today, so I decided to have my older sister, who lives next door, receive my parcel.

2. 姉は「四時までは家にいるけれど、その後は出かけます」と言っていました。

   My sister said, “I’ll be home until four, but I’m going out after that.”

3. 配達の人には、三時から四時の間に姉の家へ行ってほしいと伝えました。私の家ではありません。

   I told the delivery person that I wanted them to go to my sister’s home between three and four—not my home.

4. もし姉が出かけた後に届いたら、荷物を持ち帰って、明日の午前中にもう一度来てもらいます。

   If it arrives after my sister has gone out, they should take it back and come again tomorrow morning.

5. 荷物は食べ物ではなく本なので、今日受け取れなくても大丈夫です。外の箱には入れないでください。

   The parcel contains books, not food, so it is fine if I cannot receive it today. Do not put it in the box outside.

6. 姉が受け取ってくれた場合は、私は帰る前に電話します。それから、姉の家へ取りに行くつもりです。

   If my sister receives it for me, I will phone before heading home. Then I intend to collect it at her home.
