Read the text

日本語で散歩しましょう

土曜日の午前十時に公園の入り口で集まります。散歩は十一時半までです。

飲み物を持ってきてください。参加したい人は、木曜日までに名前をメールで送ってください。

雨のときは、図書館で話します。

How to read this text

木曜日 is a registration deadline, not the event day. The event is on 土曜日. The meeting point is more specific than “the park”: it is the entrance, 入り口. These distinctions are common reasons to reread a notice.

The last sentence introduces a conditional alternative for rain. It changes the activity location to the library. The invitation does not say the event is automatically cancelled. All details belong to this fictional exercise; there is no real registration email address.

English translation — check after your first reading

Let’s take a walk in Japanese. We will meet at the park entrance at ten on Saturday morning. The walk lasts until eleven thirty. Please bring a drink. If you want to join, email your name by Thursday. If it rains, we will talk in the library.
