Formation and use
| Predicate | から | ので |
|---|---|---|
| V | 行くから | 行くので |
| い | 寒いから | 寒いので |
| な | 静かだから | 静かなので |
| N | 学生だから | 学生なので |
Verbs and i-adjectives can use plain forms: 行くから, 寒いから. Nouns and na-adjectives need だ in the basic plain affirmative: 学生だから, 静かだから.
Polite forms can precede から: 忙しいですから, 行きますから. The level of politeness depends on the whole sentence and setting; plain embedded forms can also appear with a polite final predicate.
Comparisons and common errors
から can support a request or suggestion: 危ないですから、入らないでください. The speaker gives a reason for the requested action. A blunt delivery can still sound forceful.
なぜ or どうして can ask for a reason. A short response may end in からです, as in 忙しいからです. In longer explanations, connect the reason to what it explains rather than leaving an unclear fragment.
